ConvergeSouth Film Festival
General Rules
- The producers of all accepted projects screened at ConvergeSouth may use this opportunity for marketing their films to domestic and international distributors.
- All projects must be submitted on DVD by postal mail for judging. PAL format is not accepted.
- If you want your DVD returned you must mail along with your entry, a self-addressed stamped/pre-paid envelope.
- All projects must be labeled with name, address, email address, title of project and running time
- Multiple entries from the same director are accepted but each must have its own entry form.
- Each entry will be reviewed by committee and rated for creativity, production value, originality and over all impact. The final judging by a panel of industry professionals.
- All Entrants warrants and represents that he/she:
a. is the sole owner and has right to enter project.
b. entrant has obtained all necessary clearances to display project.
c. must have copyright privileges in order to screen film. - All entrants agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the ConvergeSouth Film Festival without limitations against any and all third party claims, damages, liabilities, cost and expenses including legal fees, arising from any breach by Entrant including entrant's representations and warranties.
- Entries must be postal mailed to the Conference, with the video DVD submission form, for consideration.
Acceptable Formats Include NTSC DVD.

Film Categories
music video category
In this category, video must be submitted from the management or the band itself. What we are looking for is creativity and story telling through visuals that represent the music. The Conference wants to avoid excessive footage of band playing. Open to all genres of music.
citizen journalism
We are looking for self-produced videos that are newsworthy stories. Can be but not limited to stories about historic events, local politics, corporate accountability, personal documentary, current events and similar. No more than 15 minutes in length.
animation
In this category, we are looking for submissions that use animation to tell a story. The film may be mixed with live action footage. Submission length: no longer than 15 minutes.
short films
We are looking for short films in these categories. Short Films must not run longer than 30 minutes.

vlogs
Looking for submissions from vloggers. We will announce an online vlog voting system before the Conference. Categories include:

The winners will have clips of their best episodes shown to the audience in a montage, edited by the Conference's Film Festival organizer, Andy Coon.
How to Submit Video/Film
In our initial Film Festival year, ConvergeSouth requests that entries be postal mailed to the conference organizers with identification information enclosed. Send DVDs to this address:

The Festival Schedule - Saturday October 18, 2008
After the conference we will show the selected videos from each category. Our suggested Film Festival Schedule for Saturday evening, October 20, 2007:
- 6:30-7:00 - Music Videos
- 7:00-7:45 - Citizen Jounalism
- 7:45-8:15 - Animation
- 8:15-8:30 - Vlogs
- 8:30-9:30 - Short Films
The winning video's will be shown the next day after the closing thoughts. Will run any where from an hour or two depending on the length of the winning videos.
